“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom”

– Aristotle

The main purpose of Innerminder is to educate professionals in academia about stress reduction techniques at the conceptual and experiential level and by doing so to facilitate a state of higher physical and mental well-being of both the individual and the community.

To achieve this purpose, Innerminder partners with public or private universities, institutions, organizations, or any other entity linked to the academic field in order to provide courses, workshops, and public events about stress reduction.

Strong emphasis is given in reaching postgraduate students (master and PhD candidates) but the services of the association are not limited to that sector of the population (see below).

The content of the program combines:

E

Conceptual content about the mechanisms of the stress response.

E

Experiential knowledge about stress reduction acquired through the practice of secular contemplative techniques (Awareness of Body-Brain Communication).

The content is presented in a systematic, scientific and logic way to facilitate the communication to postgraduate students by adapting it to their particular needs.

Innerminder also offers free courses, workshops and public events about stress reduction to other members of academia such as professors, administrative staff, research staff and group leaders, and other people working in academic settings.

TRAINING THE TRAINER

Innerminder trains and supports selected staff of universities, institutions, organizations, or any other academic entity so they can be qualified to continue providing and maintaining stress reduction sessions for the rest of the internal staff. These are referred to as “Stress Reduction Facilitators”. This allows the complete integration of stress reduction programs with internal aims, objectives, and/or interests of the institutions.

The intention is to fully integrate stress reduction programs based on secular contemplative practices into the institutions, so they can independently structure their own stress reduction sessions according to their internal mission, vision, institutional values, and schedule; Innerminder supports and guides this integration process and provides regular supervision.
